I am Xandt Wyntreez
Poet/Writer/Spoken-Word Artist/and Actor
Still with me?
Simply put, I write and perform many of my writings
(and on occasion, the writings of others).
Poetry has become the primary mode for my artistic expressions. My approach to writing it is to utilize the incredible array of words available to us all, and craft their often multi-purpose meanings into works that both reflect my personal ethos, and engender reflection and/or recognition from the readers. I write with a style that is sometimes unconventional as it relates to punctuation and design to further enhance the musicality (I’m a non-performing classically-trained tenor) that informs most of my output.
My overarching goal is to create poetry that is accessible, and yes, thoughtfully entertaining. As I write, I imagine my words being read aloud to an audience, and indeed I perform my works increasingly in public forums, venues, and recently including social media platforms. My bio, listed elsewhere here, will attest to the suitability of such endeavors.
I remain an avid fan of Golden Age movies and television, especially Film noir. However, since the airings of the brilliant Schitt's Creek, I've embraced a number of streamed series from several different nations. I enjoy music, international travel, great food, and literature.
I sincerely hope that you will find satisfaction in perusing the materials included on this website. I will update publications; add new works; and list upcoming performances here. Please feel free to follow me on Facebook and Instagram. (Presently, there are no other platforms to which I ascribe.)
[Please note that Publication industry rules dictate that only excerpts and clips of my writings may be posted publicly. Complete works must be requested, and/or acquired in a printed publication]
Thank you for your much-appreciated interest and support.

Review: Sheldrake Lukas at The Garden II, starring Xandt Wyntreez (August 9, 2021)
Among the glory of great music, and a paradise-like outdoor setting, was this gem of Human experience.
I, adverse to Poetry, [state] the only one who gets it is the poet, XANDT WYNTREEZ, [whose] work revised my belief.
His performance brought to the stage: Life, as it is. Irreverence as normal. Lopsided experiences as human, funny.
Unabashedly, and generously he said for us, in plain and self revealing honesty, what we are unable to say for ourselves.
Thank you Xandt for giving so much to me. This is Art. Thank you for the experience.

Xandt Wyntreez Set to Perform at The Garden Party Gala for the NFSB
When Xandt Wyntreez bumped into a member of the Nutley Family Service Bureau (NFSB) Board of Trustees at a dinner party in 2018, he had no idea the chance meeting would turn into annual performances at The Garden Party Gala. In fact, he wasn’t sure how his talents would be used at such an event.
That initial apprehension turned out to be unfounded as Xandt was an instant smash with Event attendees. In fact, he's returned to [perform] at The Garden Party gala every year, steadily building a following with an audience that now eagerly awaits his performances.
Meet Xandt Wyntreez
A North Carolina native who moved to New York to become an actor, Xandt Wyntreez developed into a oft-published Poet/Writer. A 2020 Allen Ginsberg Poetry Prize honoree, Sensations Magazine awarded his work also. His new memoir piece, titled Coffee and Conspiracy at Four, was recently published in The Paterson Literary Review #50, and the Actor/Singer co-stars in Humanity Denied, a virtual theatre production, soon making its World premiere.
Xandt’s performance at The Garden Party will feature personal pieces that promise to have audiences relating to Xandt as a poet, actor, and performer. One of the reasons why he enjoys performing at The Garden Party is that the audience isn’t always sure what to expect.
“People are often surprised by what they end up experiencing,” Xandt said. “Some parts of the program are deeply profound and thought-provoking, but the audience also ends up laughing and having a good time. I like to share my sense of humor on stage because it allows the audience to have fun and become more engaged.”
Of course, performing in a stunning outdoor space like the Mountsier-Hardie Garden while supporting the NFSB mission takes everything to a different level.
“Mountsier-Hardie Garden does nothing but enhance the performance for the audience and us as performers,” Xandt said. “There’s such a great feeling of community because everyone is there to support each other, especially those who benefit from NFSB programs.”
